DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Chevrolet has introduced the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500 and is calling it the “most powerful Silverado ever,” as the company expands the full-size pickup’s engine lineup and upgrades its cabin technology.

In a June 16 newsroom release, Chevrolet said the truck will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines. The brand said the Silverado will continue to offer four powertrain choices, including those two V8s, an enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel.

Chevrolet said the 2027 Silverado 1500 now offers the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class. The company did not release horsepower or torque figures in the announcement.

Inside, Chevrolet said every 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a digital cockpit that includes a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center as standard equipment. ZR2 and High Country versions will add an 11.5-inch front passenger screen, along with a head-up display and rear camera mirror.

The company said the truck will be available later this year and that pricing will be announced later this year. Chevrolet said the lineup will include seven models: ZR2, High Country, Trail Boss, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Custom and WT.
