UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three employees at a Wendy’s in Union, South Carolina, were charged with tampering with food after police said they took a customer’s order from the trash, spat on it and served it back, according to reports citing the Union Police Department.
The customer had complained about an earlier drive-thru meal, and staff agreed to remake the order, according to the police account reported by Fox News and Audacy. The later order was the one allegedly tampered with before it was handed back, the reports said.
The employees named in the reports were Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. Fox News reported all three were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item.
Audacy, citing police, said Sanders and Rice were arrested and that a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant. Fox News reported the three were arrested separately between June 16 and June 22 and said a manager wrote them up.
The reports differ on the date of the alleged incident, with Audacy placing it on May 30 and Fox News saying May 31. Audacy identified the restaurant as the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass.
