BAHRAIN, June 27 (World Daily Times) — Bahrain said Iranian drones entered its territory on Saturday, prompting condemnations from the Gulf Cooperation Council, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates as the kingdom described the attack as a threat to its security.

Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry called the strike a “flagrant threat” to the kingdom’s safety and said the attack showed “the Iranian regime’s continued attacks” and placed responsibility on Tehran for undermining peace efforts.

Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi called the attack “treacherous” and said it would undermine efforts to preserve regional stability. Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry said the strikes were “a dangerous undermining of endeavors for peace and stability” and a threat to the region.

Saudi Arabia and Qatar also condemned the attack, saying it violated Bahrain’s sovereignty and international law. The United Arab Emirates said it remained committed to supporting Bahrain’s safety and stability.

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard later said on state television that it had targeted several locations it described as belonging to “the U.S. terrorist army in the region.”
