FLINT, Mich., June 28 (Our Michigan Times) — Genesee County prosecutors charged Damien O’Brien and Jessica O’Brien in Flint Township, Michigan, with second-degree murder, torture and child abuse in connection with the death of their 7-year-old son, Casper O’Brien, court records show.
Casper died Nov. 4 after a 911 call earlier that day reported he was not breathing at the family’s Flint Township home, according to law enforcement information cited in the records.
Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton said in a statement that investigators believe the child was neglected. “These parents, I believe, neglected this child to the point that he became obese,” Leyton said.
Court documents cited in coverage say Casper weighed 255 pounds when he died.
