NAPA, Calif., July 5 (Sonoma Times) — Paul Pelosi, 86, could face misdemeanor hit-and-run charges after Napa County sheriff’s deputies investigated a July 3 crash in Yountville, where officials said a brown convertible struck a parked car and left the scene.

The sheriff’s office said deputies responded around 2:30 p.m. to the 6700 block of Yount Street in Napa County. No injuries were reported.

According to the sheriff’s statement, deputies later found Pelosi. The office said he admitted hitting something but said he did not know what he had struck.

Investigators said a preliminary alcohol screening test showed a blood alcohol level of 0.00, and they ruled out DUI. The sheriff’s office said it did not arrest Pelosi, citing California Penal Code 853.6, and referred the case to the Napa County District Attorney’s Office for review, with a California DMV re-evaluation referral also expected.

The 2026 incident follows a separate Napa County case in 2022, when the district attorney’s office filed misdemeanor DUI-with-injury charges against Pelosi after a May 2022 collision and said a blood sample showed a blood alcohol content of .082%.
