WASHINGTON, July 5 (DC Times Online) — Michael Dell, founder and chief executive of Dell Technologies (NYSE: DELL), and his wife Susan Dell have pledged $6.25 billion to help fund federal Trump Accounts for 25 million American children, a White House-backed commitment aimed at building long-term savings for families nationwide.
The White House said the gift will add $250 to the accounts of eligible children age 10 and under who live in ZIP codes with median incomes below $150,000. The contribution would sit alongside a separate $1,000 government seed deposit for U.S. citizens born between Jan. 1, 2025, and Dec. 31, 2028.
According to the White House, the accounts will remain under guardian control until age 18 and can later be used for education, a first home or starting a business. The administration said the program is designed to give children an investment account at the start of life and a path to build wealth over time.
The White House said contributions to the accounts are scheduled to begin on July 4, 2026, tying the launch to the nation’s 250th anniversary. President Donald Trump joined the Dells in celebrating the milestone, according to the release, which described the gift as one of the largest direct investments ever made in American families.
